New Bedford – Jason John Perry, aka "Jplumbler", age 43, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024.

Jason was born in New Bedford, MA to John & Debra Perry. He graduated from GNBVTHS in 1999 with a trade in plumbing. He was a plumber by trade and the proud owner of J.Perry Plumbing. There was no project big or small he wouldn’t attempt to tackle. From a young age he could be found taking things apart and reassembling them just for fun. 

He is survived by his loving parents, John & Debra Perry of N. Dartmouth; brother, John Perry Jr & his fiancé Tanya Mello; nephew and niece, Brayden & Madison Estrela; the love of his life and best friend, his niece, Quinn Margaret Perry; along with his 4-legged companions, Guinness & Harley Perry; grandmother, Patricia Brophy of Port St. Lucie, FL; as well as too many aunts, uncles and cousins to list residing from coast to coast. 

He was predeceased by his grandfather and grandmother John & Natalie Perry of S. Dartmouth, James Brophy, his grandfather of Port St. Lucie FL and his cousin /more like a sister, Nicole Brophy.

In his free time, he enjoyed riding one of his vast collections of motorized vehicles, lounging by the pool, or downtown regularly at his favorite spot “last round ". 

He will always be remembered as “my buddy”, life of the party, always willing to lend a hand, and FOREVER young at heart.❤️

Jason's Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Visiting hours will take place at Perry Funeral Home from 12:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. with his cremains. Immediately Followed by (weather permitting) a bike ride/procession to continue his Celebration of Life @ The Last Round Bar & Grille, 908 Purchase St New Bedford MA 02740, where all are invited to join family & friends in food, drinks, and sharing memories.

Antone C. “Tony” Fastino

FALL RIVER… Antone C. “Tony” Fastino, 64

of Fall River passed away March 3, 2022 at his home. He was the loving husband of Robin E. (Steadman) Fastino to whom he had been married for 41 years.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Antone C. and Leona R. (Martin) Fastino.
Mr. Fastino had worked for 20 years as a master plumber for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts before his retirement in 2010 at which point, he went on to work for himself. Along with his love for working, he was also an avid birdwatcher. He adored spending time with his new grandson and family. And while family and work were always top ranked in his enjoyment, scratch tickets absolutely held a special place in his heart as well.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Mathieu Fastino and Amanda Fastino, both of Fall River; his grandson Wyatt Stephen Fastino ; his sister Donna Pereira of Somerset; his niece Madison Nunes; his nephew Michael Pereira; and many extended family and friends.


Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 9 AM from South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street Fall River, MA 02723 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, 1335 North Main Street Fall River, MA 02720. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery Fall River. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 4 – 7 PM.

Edmund A. Brown, age 88,

passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Janice L. (Ferris) Brown to whom he was married for 67 years.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Frederick F. and Murial F. (Nutter) Brown he was a longtime resident of Westport.

A 1952 graduate of BMC Durfee High School he was a veteran of the United States Army. Owner and operator of the family business, E.A. Brown Plumbing and Heating for nearly 40 years, he was the Plumbing Inspector for the Town of Dartmouth for 17 years, retiring at age 80. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping at the Tremont Advent Christian Campmeeting Association (TACCA) Campground. In his downtime, he enjoyed reading, taking walks around the neighborhood, vacationing, making people laugh and spending time with his family, wife of 67 years, and his dogs. A longtime member of the National Rifle Association he also belonged to the Massachusetts Plumbing Inspectors Association and attended Advent Christian Church in Fall River and Calvary Bible Church in Westport.

In addition to his wife, he leaves one son, James “Jim” Brown and his wife Lori of Westport; one sister, Carol Henry of Newport and one grandson, Taylor Brown. He also leaves behind 3 great grandchildren, Landon, Taylor Jr., and Lyla and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Pauline Faulkingham.

A Celebration of Edmund’s life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Bible Church on 1100 State Road in Westport, Ma. Relatives and friends are welcome.

Larry O. Sousa, age 63

of Rio Verde, AZ, formerly of Fall River, MA passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long battle with lung disease, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Anna I. Sousa, to whom he had been married for 38 years.

He was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, the son of the late Jose and Evelina (Oliveira) Sousa. Larry owned and operated Sousa’s Plumbing and Heating for many years in the greater Fall River area. In his later years, he was employed by the New England Gas Company and AGI Construction.

In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his two children, Nathan H. Sousa and his wife Felicia of Somerset and Brittany Sousa of Rio Verde, AZ; a granddaughter Priya Sousa; his beloved dog, Jayda; a brother Norman Sousa of Fall River; two sisters Margaret Carreiro and her husband Paulo of Ormond Beach, FL and Octavia Bernardo of MA;and His in Laws Henrique & Maria Sousa of Westport. Larry was also the brother of the late Reggie Sousa and his surviving wife Natalie Sousa of Fall River.

His Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Emile J. “Pete” Pinault, Jr. 94,

of Fall River, husband of Jorgina (Viveiros) Pinault, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023.

A lifelong career in plumbing, he was employed by Henry Ouellette Plumbing and also owned Pleasant Plumbing and Heating. He then became the Plumbing Foreman at UMass, Dartmouth.

He was a Scout Leader of Troop 18, Immaculate Conception Parish and a member of ROMEO Club at White’s Restaurant.

Besides his wife of 72 years, he leaves two sons, Paul Pinault (wife Gail) and Steven Pinault (late wife Edna & companion of Marci Michael); grandchildren, Jonathan (wife Vicki), Christopher (wife Brooke), Andrew (wife Kathryn), Robert, James (wife Sandy) and Pamela (husband Mike); 19 great-grandchildren, Sophie, Griffin, Wilder, Mary, Tyler, Quinn, Julia, Rowan, Robbie, Sean, Joey, Jimmy, Lisa, Jonathan, Alissa, Samantha, Mikey, Marissa and Jillian; many great-great grandchildren; siblings, Juliette Oliveira, Norbert and Robert Pinault; many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Roger Pinault, Lucille Soares and Irene Ouellette and the son of the late Emile and Juliette (Bernier) Pinault.

Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St. Fall River.  

His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:00 AM from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church, at 9:00 AM.

Philip “Phil” Lawrence

Philip “Phil” Lawrence, 88, of Westport

passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 8, 2023. He was the husband of the late Linda M. (Girouard) Lawrence.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Antone and Frances (Paiva) Lawrence, he was raised on the Lawrence Farm on Hathaway Road. He had resided in Westport for the past 50 years.

Phil was a master plumber who was the founder of Phil Lawrence Plumbing and Heating in New Bedford, which he owned and operated for many years.

During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his sons, Philip M. Lawrence and his wife Claire of South Carolina, and Kevin M. Lawrence and his wife Tammy of Dartmouth; his brothers, Antone Lawrence, Jr. of Little Compton, RI and Manuel Lawrence of Oregon; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Kathleen (Lawrence) Moniz, and his brothers, George Lawrence and Denis Lawrence.

His visitation will be held on Wednesday November 15th, his 89th birthday, from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Roger S. Olivier, 93, of Westport,

husband of Lorraine (Bernier) Olivier, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022.  He owned and operated Roger Olivier Heating & Plumbing and had also served as Assistant Plumbers Inspector for the towns of Westport and Dartmouth. He was active in Westport Little League and the American Legion, Post 145.  Roger was an Army veteran of WWII.

Besides his wife of 69 years, he leaves six children, Suzanne Borden (husband Barry), Denise Francoeur (husband Robert), Marc Olivier, Jeannine Paliotti (husband Mark), Ronald Olivier (companion Jodi Angell) and Matthew Olivier (wife Cheryl); 10 grandchildren, Marc, Steven, Ross, Adam, Cameron, Megan, Marisa, Scott, Daniel and John; 4 great-grandchildren, Bianca, Julia, Alayna and Isabella; a brother, Adrien; nieces and nephews.  He was the son of the late J.Ubald and Evangeline (Roy) Olivier and the brother of the late Madeleine Pages and Bernard, Eugene, Oscar, Alfred and Paul Olivier.

Visitation Friday from 4 PM to 7 PM at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So.Main St.Fall River.

Daniel M. Pereira, 48, of Mattapoisett

passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born in New Bedford to Manuel and Maria (Castelo) Pereira. He was a self-employed plumber for many years who loved sports, especially the Miami Dolphins and Sporting. Survivors include his parents, son, Tyler Carballo Pereira, brother, David Pereira, sister, Alda Coelho, and the love of his life, Victoria (Carballo) Pereira. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 3rd, at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in New Bedford at 10:30AM with burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8am-10am on June 3rd at Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford.

Edward J. Pedro, 65,

long-time resident of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Edward Pedro and the late Dorothy (Furtado) Pedro and a 1975 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School.

   Prior to his retirement, he was a shipping manager for Robinson Plumbing Supply for many years and a former co-owner of Horsefeathers Restaurant and Bar. An avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, he also loved camping on Cape Cod, meticulously taking care of his truck and camper, and traveling to such places as Charlestown, Rhode Island, Philadelphia, and Cape Cod. But what was most important to Edward was spending quality time with all of his family.  

   Besides his long-time companion of twenty-three years, Betty Parker, he leaves his children, Melinda Pedro of Swansea and Stephen Pedro of Fall River; his sister, Susan Pedro of Fall River; his aunt, Constance Reis (late husband, Joseph) of Fall River; an uncle, Thomas Furtado and his wife, Bernadette of Rehoboth; and many loving cousins. He also leaves his beloved dog, Adele.

   His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, December 9th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church. A private committal followed at St. Patrick Cemetery. FALL RIVER - David C. Medeiros, age 78,

left this earth to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with dementia on January 14, 2021 at Blue Hills Alzheimer's Care Center in Stoughton, Massachusetts. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Manuel (Cabral) and Isabel (Braga) Medeiros. He is survived by his wife Germaine Pacheco) Medeiros, four children, Mark Medeiros (wife Theresa), Melissa Lavoie (husband David), David Mcelroy (wife Joanne) and Kimberly Medeiros; grandchildren Nichole Bradham, Kaelyn Lavoie, Samantha Moraes, Nolan Ferreira, David Mcelroy Jr, Alexander Medeiros, Sierra Mcelroy, Travis Medeiros, and Lainie Medeiros and seven great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. He is the brother of Izaltina (Sally) Delvalle, Thomas C. and Joseph Medeiros and the late Humberto C. Medeiros.

Dave enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He took great pleasure in following his family around with his camcorder. Dave loved spending time at his Florida home every winter where he and Germaine were visited by many family members and friends. He was always busy with his work and he really enjoyed playing cards with his brothers, in -laws and nephews. He was always keen to share his knowledge and never stopped helping others. He played softball (Harbor Aces) and maintained lasting friendships with many of the players. He was a PAL Board Member from 1980-1981 and a PAL Hockey Coach/Volunteer PAL Haunted House.

In 1972 Dave received his license as a Journeyman Plumber. in 1981 he received his Master Plumbers License and in 1982 he received his Master Gas Fitters License. Dave was the City of Fall River Plumbing and Gas Inspector for 25 years. In 1995 David received the award of Outstanding Leadership as President of N.E. Plumbing, Gas and Mechanical Inspectors. Beginning in 2004 and prior to his retirement from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2017, Dave served as one of the State of Massachusetts Plumbing and Gas Inspectors as well as a Compliance Officer for the Commonwealth.

Dave proudly served in the U.S. military for 31 years which included five years in the U.S. Marine Corps and 26 years in the Army National Guard. As a Marine Dave was awarded two Good Conduct Medals. Upon retiring in 2002, with the rank of Master Sergeant, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal from the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Earlier he had been awarded an Official Citation for Exceptional Service in the Army National Guard from the Massachusetts State Senate and an Official Citation from the Massachusetts House of Representatives recognizing David for being chosen as the Outstanding Military Person of the Year for the Massachusetts Military Academy.

David was a man of very deep faith. He taught Bible Study for years and he served as Secretary of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. He often cited two highlights in his life were when he married his loving wife and when he embraced the Catholic faith and was baptized in 2016.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St Michael's Church at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, January 26. followed by interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. James N.B. Sine, III

James N.B. Sine, III, 70, of Rehoboth,

passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at the Miriam Hospital.

He was the husband of Paula M. (Watson) Sine, to whom he was married for 39 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James N.B. Sine, Jr., and Lois (Russell) Sine.

James was the owner and operator of Sine Plumbing and Heating Company in East Providence. He was also a plumbing inspector for Seekonk, Rehoboth, and Dighton. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved boating, snowmobiling, and four-wheeling and was also a member of the Rumford Hunting and Fishing Club. He had a passion for music and loved singing and playing the guitar. James enjoyed going to Block Island with his family every summer. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Brooke Van Fossan and her husband Noah of North Carolina and Courtney Sine of Rehoboth, two sons, Joshua Sine and his wife Lisa of Rehoboth and James N.B. Sine, IV. and his wife Vanessa of Rehoboth, five grandchildren, Connor and Reid Van Fossan, Abigail and Jacob Sine, and James N.B. Sine, V, one sister, Jo-Ann Sine-Calise, and one brother, Jeffrey Sine.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. John Conte for the care he gave James and the friendship they formed over the years. We also would like to thank Larry Aubin for being there for our family in our most difficult time.

Philip J. Joncas, age 88,

passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Our Lady’s Haven in Fairhaven. He was the loving husband of Helen (Cicco) Joncas to whom he was married for 67 years.

Born in Fall River a son of the late Alexander and Florence (Lauzon) Joncas he was a longtime resident of the city.

A proud veteran of the United States Army he served during the Korean Conflict during which time he lived in Austria and Germany with his wife. He reenlisted into the Navy and was stationed in Davisville with the Navy Seabees in 1982. Early on, he worked for a construction company and American Van Lines Moving Co. A skilled plumber he worked for Swansea Plumbing and then owned and operated Phil Joncas Plumbing and Heating for 23 years before his retirement in 2012.

A licensed pilot, he belonged to the New Bedford Pilot’s Association. In addition, he enjoyed boating, motorcycles, antique cars and go-carts. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Montaup and Fall River Country Clubs and enjoyed skiing and bowling. A 32nd degree Mason for the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Providence he was also a member of the America Legion Post #314, Disable American Veterans New Bedford #7, VFW Post 486 in Fall River and a life member of #110 Seabee Association.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Philip A. Joncas and his wife Mary M. Midura of Assonet; one grandson, Philip J. Joncas and one granddaughter, Maya M. Joncas and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Armand Joncas.

His Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 21, 2021 at 9:00 am from Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by a Mass at 10:00 am in Good Shepherd Parish, 1598 S. Antonio Abreu, Jr.

Antonio "Tony" Abreu, Jr., 45, of Dartmouth,

passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 at home. He was the husband of Sarah (Aguiar) Abreu.

Born in Fall River, son of Kathy (Tremblay) Fitzmaurice of Freetown and the late Antonio Abreu, Sr., he was a lifelong resident of Dartmouth. He was the owner and operator of Abreu's Plumbing company. Tony enjoyed working, riding his motorcycle, and camping. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Including his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons: Matthew J. Abreu and Joshua M. Abreu of Dartmouth; sister in law Angela (Aguiar) Ferrer and nephews Kenny and Mason Ferrer of Westport; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

William A. Ray, Sr., 71, of Fall River,

husband of the late Barbara M. (Quinlan) Ray, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020.

A US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a counter salesman for Robinson’s Supply for 25 years. He enjoyed going to the casinos and riding motorcycles.

He leaves his mother, Edith (Jarvis) Ray of Somerset; two children, Lisa Perreira (husband Jaime) of Fall River and William A. Ray, Jr. (Kristin Ray) of Orleans; six grandchildren, Amanda, Angelica, Samantha, Zachary, Rebecca and Justin; four great-grandchildren, Eli, Penny-Mae, Jayden and McKenzie; two siblings, Patricia Berube (husband Dominic) of Somerset and Michael Ray (wife Jean) of Fall River and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Shirley and the son of the late Anthony Ray.

Richard A. Pineau, 64, of Little Compton,

peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was the son of Doris L. (Bernier) Pineau of Somerset and the late Alcide Pineau.

Mr. Pineau was born in Fall River and had resided in Little Compton since 1986. A plumber by trade, he owned and operated Rick Pineau Plumbing & Heating for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and sailing. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Survivors along with his mother include his 3 daughters: Lauren Pineau of Westport, Alyssa Pineau of Bend, OR and Cara Pineau of Austin, TX; his sister: Diane M. Wingate and her husband Bruce of Westport; his brother: David J. Pineau and his wife Linda of Westport; and many nieces and nephews.

DARTMOUTH - Alex Anthony Paulino, 25,

passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 due to injuries of a vehicle accident. He was the son of Paulo J. Paulino and Maria (Andrade) Paulino of Fairhaven. He was born in New Bedford, Alex graduated in 2013 from the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational High School, also he was a teacher there at night school, teaching Plumbing and Mechanical. He was self-employed as a Plumber at Paulino's Plumbing and Mechanical.

He will be very much missed by all that knew him, he had a heart of gold, went over and above to help others, both family, friends and his customers, he was an avid fan of the Patriots and Benfica Club of Portugal.

He is survived by his parents of Fairhaven, maternal grandmother Maria C. Andrade of New Bedford, his girlfriend Nicole Nunes of Fairhaven, the late maternal grandfather Fernando Andrade, the late paternal grandparents Antonio C. Paulino and Angelina L. Paulino, Also survived by his uncles, aunts, counsins, and to many great friends.

Visiting hours will be Sunday afternoon, December 20, 2020 from 2 to 4 PM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Please be advised due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there are strict guidelines that must be adhered to for the safety of everyone. You must wear a face-covering to be allowed to the services. Please practice social distancing and avoid any close contact. Guests will be permitted to pay their respects and depart to allow the next guests to enter. Capacity at the funeral home will be limited so there could be wait times outside the funeral home.

Jason Bento Leonardo, age 37 of Dartmouth passed away in his home on Thursday, November 28, 2019. He was the loving husband of Denise Leonardo.

Born in Framingham, a son of Duarte and Mariana (Bento) Leonardo, he was a lifelong area resident. Jason was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School, class of 2000. After high school Jason was employed for many years with Araujo Brothers Plumbing. Most recently, he was employed with Gencon Service Inc., as a master plumber. Jason proudly served his country in Kuwait with Unit 379 of the United States Army National Guard. In his youth, Jason was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, where he obtained their highest achievement of Eagle Scout out of Troop 3, New Bedford.

Jason loved to work with his hands and always strived for perfection. Everything he did, he did with pride. He was known for his contagious smile and kind, compassionate spirit. He loved laughter and genuinely wanted to make others happy. Anyone could rely on Jason; he truly was a good man in every aspect of his life. His world revolved around his princesses, Jayla and Kyra. They were the sun, the stars and the moon to him. His loyal companion Malik will miss him dearly.

In addition to his devoted wife and parents, he is survived by his daughters, Jayla and Kyra Leonardo; his bonus children Desiree and Jacob Santos; his best friend and brother, Daniel B. Leonardo; his beloved sister, whom he adored, Melanie B. Leonardo; his maternal grandparents, Jose and Maria Bento; paternal grandmother, Zelia Leonardo; his nephew and godchild, Cameron Leonardo; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Jose Leonardo.

David S. “Bo” Beaudette, age 56, of Swansea, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 in Charlton Memorial Hospital.

Born in Kittery, Maine, a son of Florence M. (Lambert) Beaudette of Swansea and the late Lamont “Mickey” Beaudette, he was a longtime resident of Swansea.

A graduate of Joseph Case High School, Class of 1980, he also graduated from the New England Technical Institute where he received his plumbing degree. He worked as a Master Plumber and belonged to Local Union # 51.

David enjoyed playing flag football and softball on Sundays for the American Legion. An avid New England Patriots fan, he loved hosting football parties and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Michael Beaudette and his partner Michael Convey of Attleboro, Greg Beaudette and his wife Debra of Swansea; one sister, Kristen Leddy and her husband Brian of Chesire, CT and six nieces and nephews, Ryan and Zachary Beaudette, twins, Samantha and Christopher Leddy and twins, Mickey and Billie Leddy.

husband of Lucie (Medeiros) Batista, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018.  He was born in Santa Maria, St. Michael, Azores.

A manager at Fall River Plumber's Supply for over 30 years, he was an avid golfer and an exceptional bowler. He was a member of multiple bowling teams at AMF Holiday Lanes in Somerset.

Besides his wife of 38 years, he leaves two sons, Eric Batista and his wife Rachael of Berkley and Wesley Batista and his wife Brittney of Somerset; three grandsons, Zachary, Mason and Wyatt Batista; his father, Viriato Batista of Fall River; four siblings, Jacinto Batista and his wife Marcia of SC, Viriato Batista of New Bedford, Fernando Batista and his wife Ana of Fall River and Anna Cardoza and her husband Antonio of Fairhaven; a godson, Leland Linhares and many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Natalia (Martins) Batista.

FALL RIVER…Dennis R. Cousineau, 63, of Fall River

passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Romeo and Rita (Lemieux) Cousineau and was a lifelong resident of this city.

Mr. Cousineau worked for Simon’s Supply in New Bedford for 25 Years and for Plumber’s Supply in Fall River. He was a communicant of St. Bernadette’s Parish, Fall River and enjoyed motorcycles, cars and going to the beach.

Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Cousineau of Fall River, a sister, Janice Dawson and her husband Edward of Fall River, 2 brothers; Ronald Cousineau and his wife Claudette of Fall River and Robert Cousineau and his wife Sheryl of Swansea, several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Roger Cousineau.

53, of Sprague St., Fall River, died Thursday, April 7th at home. He was the beloved companion of Dawn Mayo of Tiverton.
Born in Fall River, MA, the son of Gerald and Joan (Lopes) Viveiros of Swansea, MA; he was a lifelong resident of this city. He was a 1980 graduate of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School in Fall River. Mr. Viveiros returned 20 years later to his alma mater where he taught plumbing. He also worked as an instructor in the night program preparing plumbers for their board examinations. Mr. Viveiros served as the plumbing inspector for the City of Fall River from 1995-2001. He most recently was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure as associate executive director of the Board of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters.
Some of his interests included boating, fishing, hunting, photography and New England Indian History. He was a member of the Italian Progressive Club in Fall River.
Besides his parents and beloved companion, he is survived by a son, Derek R. Viveiros and his wife Angelet of Fall River; a sister, Dawn Puccio and her husband Stephen of E. Freetown, MA; two grandchildren, Aiden and Camden Viveiros; a niece and a nephew; and a great-niece and two great-nephews.
Calling hours for Mr. Viveiros will be held Monday, April 18th from 6-8 p.m. in the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Burial of cremains will be private. FALL RIVER – Alan D. Deston, age 70 of Fall River,

passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 after a long illness. He was the beloved husband to Denise (Lamothe) Deston for 14 yrs. Born & raised in Fall River, he was the son of the late Harold C. and Anne S. (Smith) Deston. Prior to retiring, Alan worked as a Master Plumber. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the AMVETS of Fall River, and a member of the Fall River Elks Lodge #118. He was an avid golfer, playing in the Fall River City Hall Golf League and the Elks Lodge Golf League.

Alan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who also loved to travel. One of his final trips was taking his grandson to Walt Disney World for the first time.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: William Alan Deston (companion Michelle E. Degan) of Forestdale, MA; his daughter: Alyson Lynn Deston (companion Andrew Raposo) of Tiverton, RI; his stepdaughters: Heather Cordeiro (husband Brian) and Meghan Hague (wife Annelise Hague) all of Fall River; his 3 brothers: Robert Deston of Connecticut, David Deston of Fall River, & Gordon Deston of Delaware; 2 grandchildren: William Alan Deston Jr. & Liam Raposo; 1 great granddaughter: Alana Deston; several nieces & nephews.

of Dartmouth passed away Tuesday January 27, 2015 at Our Lady’s Haven. He was the husband of Paula (Henriques) Emmett of Dartmouth and the son of David A. and Priscilla (Mullin) Emmett of New Bedford. He was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident of the New Bedford/ Dartmouth area. David was a self- employed master plumber. He was an active communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church, doing a lot of work within the parish community. David was also a member of the Fr. Michael McGivney council #14557 of the Knights of Columbus at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Survivors include his wife; his parents; his children Joshua P. Emmett, Samantha J. Emmett, Molly E. Joseph W. St. Pierre, age 80,

of Tiverton, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at home. He was the husband of the late Emily (Andrade) St. Pierre.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Armand and Catherine (Stephens) St. Pierre. He was employed as a master plumber for the State of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He was a master mason in good standing at St. John’s Lodge #1A.F. & A.M., he worked at Main Plumbing & Heating Supply for almost 50 years. Mr. St. Pierre was a contributor to the V.F.W. & the Disabled Veterans of America. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing & going out on his boat.
He is survived by his three children, Christopher and William J. St. Pierre of Tiverton, RI and Deborah Ralphs & husband Dana of Martin City, Montana; he was the brother of Dolores Warhall & husband Larry, Paris Marie St. Pierre, Nancy St. Pierre, Susan Drewniak, Norma St. Pierre, and the late Raymond and George St. Pierre.

Donald E. French, 87 years old,

died in Longmeadow of Taunton, on Friday evening, Nov. 27, 2015, after a brief period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (Smith) French. Donald was born in Dighton, son of the late Charles and Hattie (Whelden) French. He was educated in Dighton Schools, graduated from Taunton High School, and received his teaching certificate from Fitchburg State College. He served in the United States Marine Corps during WW II. For over 29 years, he was the maintenance supervisor at ICI, Zeneca in Dighton. In 1967 Donald was appointed the Plumbing Inspector for the Towns of Dighton, Berkley and Somerset and held these positions for over forty years. He served as the manager of the First Parish Church Antiques Show and as superintendent of the Sunday school. Donald served on many boards with the First Parish Church. In recent years, he was a faithful attendant at the Dighton Community Church. In his later years, he was a champion of veterans' causes in the Taunton area. He was the Co-Chair of the Veterans Memorial Marker program for the city of Taunton. He, and his very dedicated committee, were responsible for the raising of funds for and the placing of thousands of markers on the graves of all veterans interred in all the Taunton cemeteries, ensuring that each veteran would have a flag every Memorial Day. Donald was a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and also a member of the Allied Veterans Association. He was very active in the placement of the Global War on Terror memorial on Church Green. In 2013 he was recognized as the Silver City Person of the Year. In the past years, dressed as a Civil War soldier, Donald visited many schools sharing his knowledge of Civil War history with the students. He also was a Civil War reenactor for several years. Donald is survived by a daughter, Elaine Raymond and her husband Douglas of Carver. He was the father of the late Donna Lambert and is the father in law of Leo Lambert. Donald is the grandfather of Diane Lambert, Mark Raymond, Debra Marini and Megan Johnson. He is the great grandfather of Amanda, Dustyn, Nicholas, Alyssa, and Vanessa. He is the brother of Shirley Bramante and was the brother of the late Marjorie Cummings. He leaves several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Francis P. Reilly, 68,

of North Brayton Rd., Tiverton, RI, a union master plumber since 1968, died Wednesday at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. (Dias) Reilly.

Born in Fall River, MA, he was son of the late Francis P. and Georgiana (Correia) Reilly; he lived in Tiverton since 1971 and was a member of St. Theresa Church. Mr. Reilly was a former Little League baseball coach for Bayside Little League for 24 years.

Mr. Reilly was a master plumber out of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 51. He completed his UA Instructor Training Program in 1989 at Purdue University and from 1983-2011 was a plumbing instructor for the union.. From 2008-to present he taught licensed plumbers for the IAPMO Organization. He served as Plumbing and Gas Inspector-Code Enforcement for the City of Fall River from 2005-2013.

He is survived by a daughter, Jena Reilly of Somerset, MA; a brother-in-law, Peter Dias of Bonita Springs, FL; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lorraine Raposa.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 7:45 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Stafford Rd., Tiverton. Committal prayers and interment in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton. Calling hours Monday 5-8 p.m.

Jason Nientimp, age 34 of Assonet

passed away October 22, 2014 after a long struggle with addiction. He was the son of George Nientimp and Marcia Rossetti and stepson of Therese A. (LaBonte) Nientimp. Jason was a master plumber and proprietor of Bayshore Heating and Plumbing.

He was father of Elizabeth Mary Nientimp of Somerset, brother of Jared Nientimp (wife Jennifer) of Tiverton and step-brother of Stephen R. Theberge (wife Bernadette) of Guam, nephew of Nancy and Wayne Wood, Donna and Mark Pavao, Greg and Erin Nientimp, Laura and William Perry and Gerald and Mary Nientimp. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

He worked as a plumber for many years, both with his own business and with Sardinha Plumbing. He enjoyed antiques, especially antique cars. He was the father of Donna M. Willis (husband - Shawn) of Swansea, Jason Sardinha of Japan and Heidi Lennon (husband - Brendan) of Shrewsbury, MA; brother of Manuel Sardinha of Swansea, Tiberio Sardinha, Joseph Sardinha, Carlos Sardinha and Angelo Sardinha, all of Fall River; grandfather of Elicia and Nicole Mercier. He was also brother of the late Lazaro Sardinha and Maria C. Torres. In accordance with Luiz’s wishes, his arrangements were privately held.

James “Jim” Dorsey

James R. "Jim" Dorsey, passed away peacefully, on Saturday April 13, 2013,

surrounded by his family. Just a month shy of his 74th birthday, Jim had been struggling with Parkinson's Disease for the past 3 years, and was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer just 6 weeks ago. Jim leaves behind his loving wife, Brenda J. ( White) Dorsey. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary just one day before his death. Jim is also survived by his four children: Jay Dorsey and his wife Nancy of Taunton, Kelly Dorsey and her partner Dawn Altoonian of Warwick, RI; Colleen Needham and her husband Tim of Raynham and Erin Dorsey-Kinney and her husband Ray of Taunton. Jim is also survived by eight grandchildren: Joshua Dorsey, Rachel Dunham, Shaun Vernazzaro, Matthew Dorsey, Adam Vernazzaro, Danielle Crafford, Alicyn and Jack Needham. He also leaves six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jim was born, on May 22, 1939, to the late John and Blanche Dorsey of East Taunton. He was the brother of the George Dorsey of Wisconsin, Margaret "Peggy" Soucy of Florida and the late Eugene Dorsey of Taunton.

He was a 1957 graduate of Coyle High School, where he was known as "Mutt" Dorsey, a stand out football player, Jim is probably best known for his local business of over 30 years, Jim Dorsey and Son Plumbing, which he retired from two years ago. He had been a local real estate developer for decades and in his retirement ventured into his new business, Patriot Coal. Jim was a former board member of the Bristol County Savings Bank, member of the Taunton River Power Squardon, the TACC, and several plumbing associations.

Jim enjoyed working hard and taking care of his family and friends. His passions were fishing on his boat and watching his grandson Jack play baseball. He will be greatly missed by many.

passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 peacefully at home with his loving family, He was the husband of E. Jean (Dodge) St. Pierre.Born in Fall River, son of the late Armand and Catherine (Stephens) St. Pierre. Mr. St. Pierre worked for a family owned business,  Main Plumbing & Heating as a plumber; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a keen enthusiast of horseback riding and driving, a member of several riding clubs- Aquidneck Island and Moswansicut both of RI., and L&G of Conn. He loved hunting, fishing, motorcycling and sailing his catamaran. He belonged to Hobie Cat Fleet #25 and Fleet #448, he was a life time member of the Liberal Club. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons Gerald St. Pierre and his wife Anne, Clayton St. Pierre and his wife Patti, a brother J. William St. Pierre Five sisters, Delores Warhall, Susan Drewniak, Nancy Cordiero, Marie St. Pierre, Norma Mosher, five grandchildren Brian, Timothy, Taylor, Brittany and Michael, a great grandchild Collin, several nieces and nephews.
